IGF and IGF-1 LR3

What is IGF?

Insulin growth factor, IGF is a substance naturally produced by the human body. Its highest levels are usually seen during pubertal age. During the puberty period, IGF is mostly responsible for muscle growth. It is also responsible for many functioning in the human body. Some of its effects include increasing amino acid transport, protein synthesis, RNA synthesis, glucose transport and decreased protein degradation.

This is different in steroid use and weight trainings wherein hypertrophy occurs. Hyperplasia causes cell splitting while hypertrophy increases the size of your muscle cells. During the pubertal age, you will have a set amount of muscle cells. Growth hormones during this stage would increase the size of your muscle cells and you do not actually gain more of these cells. With IGF use however, you are able to promote hyperplasia thereby increasing the number of muscle cells on your tissue. Through steroid use and weight trainings, you are then able to make these cells grow and become stronger. In a way, IGF can help potentially change a person’s capacity to build muscle size and density.

IGF Safety

To date, IGF remains to be a research drug. The US FDA has not approved IGF for any pharmaceutical uses. It is currently being used for burn victims, nerve tissue repair and as a possible treatment for muscle wasting amongst individuals diagnosed with AIDS.


Many different IGF analogs have been identified during the recent years; two of the most common includes recombinant IGF and IGF 1 LR3, also known as Long R3 IGF-1. Regular IGF has a very short half-life between 10 to 20 minutes when administered to the human body. It is quickly destroyed however; you may be able to combine it with specific binding proteins to extend its half-life. Unfortunately, this is a very complicated procedure. More importantly, there is a less expensive and more effective version available – that is IGF 1 LR3.

IGF 1 LR3 is considered to be the most potent form of IGF. It has been altered chemically to cause changes on its amino acids. In so doing, biological activity is increased while protein binding is avoided allowing a much longer half-life of 20 to 30 hours. These proteins prevents the biological activities of IGF’s, hence, preventing their actions potentiates the ability of IGF.

Another advantage of IGF 1 LR3 is its price. It is relatively inexpensive as compared to other IGF’s. Moreover, a media grade version is being sold which is adequate to produce noticeable improvements in the body. Some of the benefits associated with IGF 1 LR3 include increased muscle gain, strength and size.

How to take IGF 1 LR3

Recommended IGF 1 LR3 dosage range from 20 to 120 mcg/day. This dosage actually revolves around how much you are willing to spend. It would be enlightening to know however that most users use the lower end dosage range of 20 mcg/day.  Anecdotal evidence has shown that this dose is able to provide all the desirable results of IGF 1 LR3. Experts further suggest administering it once or twice a day via the subcutaneous route. The best time for administration is in the morning or immediately after weight trainings.

Buy IGF 1 LR3

IGF, and even IGF 1 LR3 can be very difficult to obtain. Since it is still a research product, it is available from a few laboratories. Hence, you must be wary of online sellers and black market dealers. When buying IGF LR3, please always remember not to purchase any pre-diluted liquid IGF, ever! NO such product exists!

IGF 1 LR3 as well as other IGF’s is available as a lyophilized, free-dried powder. This means that you will be receiving it in a dry (very) powder state. Hence, if you receive some offer about pre-diluted IGF 1 LR3, this is most probably fake. Remember, you will need to dilute it with bacteriostatic or sterile water before administration. You may purchase this water from local pharmaceutical stores or chemical suppliers.

Storing IGF 1 LR3

Please note that IGF 1 LR3 and other IGF’s are very delicate peptides. Upon dilution, you must immediately store it on your refrigerator. Storing it on your refrigerator is critical to ensure optimal efficiency.
